Hobbytown USA, Fresno CA, is proud to announce a free Plastic Model Workshop at 102 E. Barstow Ave. (Corner of Blackstone & Barstow near Food Max.)
Every Friday from 10am to 5:30pm there will be a workspace, instruction and an air brush available for building a plastic model of your choice. Instruction will include the use of different glues, paints, and decal application: whatever is required to build a plastic kit.
Have you ever asked:
- Why do my decals look like they have silver under them?
- How can I remove a glue fingerprint from my windshield?
- How do I thin the different acrylic paints on the market today?
- How do I remove the seam down the middle of my plane?
- Why would I want to use Windex, Easy-Off or Future Floor Wax on my kit?
All of these questions and many more will be answered every Friday. Come as long as you want or just spend a few minutes talking about your hobby and your favorite-modeling subjects. Tell us some of your modeling secrets and we will tell you some of ours.
What will you need to participate in the workshop?
- A kit of your choice.
- Glue, paint, tools (X-acto knife, snips, paint brushes).
- A love of your hobby and the desire to build.
Due to the lack of a spray booth, only Acrylic paints will be used for air brushing. Oil based paints may be used for hand painting. You must provide your own thinner for oil based paints.
